Toddler Curriculum

Yes, I had ups-and-downs bout the curriculum. And for a moment, I was stuck with Fritz's learning days.

Then, after reading a blog about a homeschooling's families, I decided. What I did to Fritz was too complicated and no wonder it's hard for me to catch up the lesson with the condition I have now. So, I just need to make it simple as simple as my life with simple things I can use and simple money we have to spend.

I'm trying to make a simple schedule for Fritz. Here there are:

Every week, I have to prepare 3 trays of Practical Life's things and 3 activities; Toys, Books and Movies. The Practical Life contains Pouring, Transferring, Sorting and Open-Close activities. And the activities contains 3 toys he has to play, 3 books he has to read and 3 movies he has to watch on that week. So he will not play with the same toys, read same books and watch same movies. Some ideas are taken from here.

Everyday he will learn a different lesson.
Monday-Alphabet
Tuesday-Colors
Wednesday-Numbers
Thursday-Shape
Friday-Science/Art & Craft

Alphabet - every week, I will prepare a print out of Alphabet and I'm going to ask Fritz to color it. After 26 weeks, I'll cut the alphabet and I'm going to make like this (at that moment, Fritz is in Pre Nursery stage). Then here will be the next project. Other activities are tracing the Alphabet (in the middle of Pre Nursery or Nursery stage), playing puzzle and coloring pages of Alphabet things.

Colors - I had done some colors' project. I prepared the drawing book and asked Fritz to paint it with the related colors and stick some things related. I just continue this project for some weeks. I took the ideas from here. Then I'm going to do sorting and matching the things with the colors. For the worksheet, I'll take from here.

Numbers
- introducing the numbers by coloring the numbers itself, 10 weeks. Then do some coloring numbers with the things and paste things related to the numbers as the art and craft projects. Next, do some worksheet I had such as tracing the numbers and simple math. I have tons of math worksheet.

Shape - as same as numbers and alphabet's worksheet. Firstly, I'll give shape's coloring pages. For the rest activities, I'll see from here and here. Some worksheet and activities will follow next.

Science - simple experiment such as hot and cold, tasting, smelling, heavy and light, sinking and floating, rough and smooth, etc.

Hopefully it can work well and GOD will lead me to be more creative day by day. (also lead me to be not lazy and consistent with what I do)

Curriculum

As Fritz is still toddler, so I still have more time to search which curriculum I'm going to use for him. For now, I like Montessori method and Charlotte Mason method. Actually, I like Montessori one as I had taught for this method once in preschool. For CM method, I just got the big outline only. So I need more time to learn about this method (though I like this method surely).

So here is some of my plans for Fritz.

I divide the grade according to Fritz's age.
1-2 years --> Toddler
2-3 years --> Pre Nursery
3-4 years --> Nursery
4-5 years --> Kindergarten 1
5-6 years --> Kindergarten 2

Where every grade I divide it again into 2 semester, July - December and January - June.

Fritz is still on Toddler grade, so I just make a plan for his Toddler. For the rest of them is still on planning. If I can go with Toddler plan, so I will go with Pre Nursery plan and so on...just pray that Toddler plan is working out so I can do Fritz's home education. *hoping*

a new blog

I choose to educate my little boy at home with lots of reasons. The main reasons is I really can't afford to pay the expensive fee that every(pre)school ask. Honestly, it's too expensive for me. Otherwise, I believe I can teach as same as they teach to the children as I was ever be a teacher for few preschools.

Now, as a parent, I want to give all the best things for my child. Every parents has duty to fulfill our little children' brains with lots of knowledge that they want to learn. I believe too that every parents are able to do it as long as they believe they can do.

With those reasons, I decide to give all Fritz's education needs at home. Hopefully, I can do it!

So, I want to share here all Fritz's days as a home education learner and make this blog as his portfolio as an indicator of what he has achieved.

I'm not a perfect teacher for my boy but I'm trying to be perfect by learning together with him.

Cheers...
